Festival-goers found themselves in a sticky celebration last weekend at the fourth annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival. Hosted in the “Duct Tape Capital” of the world and home of Duck brand duct tape – Avon, Ohio – the festival boasted traditional favorites along with a few unique and sticky twists.
Henkel Corporation, marketer of Duck brand duct tape, and title sponsor of the event, brought duct tape creativity to life and featured everything from crafts and games to fashion and contests. Kids and adults alike were able to try their hand at crafting under the teachings of duct tape sculptor Todd Scott, and also enjoyed a duct tape parade, where all of the floats were made almost entirely of duct tape.
The weekend-long celebration included a collection of duct tape dresses and outfits from around the world created by students at the Virginia Marti College of Art and Design. In addition, visitors were able to vote for their favorite Duck brand duct tape Stuck at Prom couple. The couple with the most votes will win the Duck brand duct tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest, a contest that challenges high school students to create and wear duct tape formalwear to their proms for the chance to win scholarship dollars.
