Honeywell and Dover Energy Automation recently announced that they will collaborate on an industrial internet of things (IIoT) ecosystem to help industrial customers improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of their operations.

Dover Energy Automation's expertise in condition monitoring and asset optimization along with Honeywell's capabilities in data consolidation, cyber security and software development will be combined to offer an IIoT ecosystem designed to help customers solve previously unsolvable problems.

The larger consolidated data set that will be formed as a result of the collaboration is intended to allow manufacturers to apply higher analytics, achieve more detailed insights, scale data as needed to meet the needs of single-site or enterprise-wide operations, and leverage a wider pool of data experts for monitoring and analysis.

"We are excited to create an unparalleled partnership with Honeywell that will leverage our expertise in intelligent productivity tools and condition monitoring," said Ali Raza, president of Dover Energy Automation. "With our support, we will help Honeywell's IIoT ecosystem on behalf of customers to minimize unplanned shutdowns, maximize output, minimize safety risk and optimize supply chain strategies."

A provider of intelligent productivity tools and related automation software for the energy sector, Dover Energy Automation markets its products and solutions under multiple brands, including Windrock monitoring and analytical solutions for rotating and reciprocating equipment, Quartzdyne downhole pressure transducers and the Well Site Automation suite of solutions for onshore well performance optimization.

"It is clear that a robust ecosystem is key to being able to successfully implement an effective IIoT solution for manufacturers," said Andrew Hird, vice president and general manager of Honeywell Process Solutions' digital transformation business. "Having the deep domain knowledge and experience available across a range of applications to quickly and fully evaluate a plant's needs cannot be overstated. Dover's domain expertise in equipment condition monitoring and asset integrity management is superior and makes them an important partner in a differentiated ecosystem of collaborators that provide expertise for our customers."

A Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, Honeywell serves customers worldwide with aerospace products and services, control technologies, turbochargers, and performance materials.
