Toyota makes changes to organizational structure

Toyota Material Handling

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on December 21 announced regular organizational changes to take effect on January 1, 2011, as outlined below.

1. Organizational changes

A. Division not belonging to a group

The Product Development Group's BR-VI Department will be reorganized into the Value Analysis Development Division, which will not belong to a group.

 


B. IT & ITS Group

The e-TOYOTA Div. will be transferred to the IT & ITS Group.

 


C. Government & Public Affairs Group

The Corporate Public Relations Div. will be merged into the Corporate Citizenship Div.

 


D. Purchasing Group

The Purchasing Administration Dept. and the Purchasing Planning Div. will be reorganized.

 


E. Japan Sales Business Group

The Japan Sales Operations Group will be reorganized into the Japan Sales Business Group.  The Japan Service Field Operations Div. and the Japan Parts Div. will remain in the Customer Service Operations Group and satellite functions of the two divisions will be established in the Japan Sales Business Group.  Also, the IT & ITS Sales Div. will be moved into the Japan Sales Business Group from the IT & ITS Group.

 


F. Customer Service Operations Group

The Japan Parts and Accessories Div. will be reorganized to become the Japan Parts Div.

 


G. Europe Operations Group

The TME Dept. will be merged into the Europe Div.

 


H. R&D Group 1

The Body Engineering Field will be reorganized.

 


The Chassis Engineering Field will be reorganized.

 


I. R&D Group 2

Organization names in the Material Engineering Field will be changed.

 


J. Strategic Production Planning Group

The Operations Management Consulting Div., Production Planning Div., and Production Control Div will be merged.

 


The name of the Logistics Planning Div. will be changed.

 


K. Production Engineering Group

The Quality Control Dept. and some functions of the Production Engineering Planning Div. and the Vehicle Planning & Production Engineering Div. will be merged into the Vehicle Quality & Production Engineering Div.

 


The Drive Train & Chassis Production Engineering Div. and the Hybrid Vehicle Power Train Production Engineering Div.1 will be merged.

 


The Fuel Cell Production Engineering Div. and the Hybrid Vehicle Power Train Production Engineering Div. 2 will be merged.

 


After the above changes are implemented, the number of divisions will change to 243 from the current 248.
