In 1994 he transferred his engineering skills into the Food Sector with PepsiCo International as part of Walkers Snack Foods Ltd. Involved with the introduction of Doritos into the UK he went on to commission, operate and maintain many new product platforms. In 2006 he was tasked with developing the sites' Condition Monitoring and Lubrication strategy, as a practitioner deploying predictive technology he returned six figure sums year on year by mitigating or eradicating unplanned events. In 2015 he founded UPTIME Consultant Ltd as an independent to share all these skills along with RCM, TPM and FMECA to spread the benefits of proactive and sustainable reliability. His partner Jenny is co-director and company secretary, they are keen on helping others freely with STEM volunteering and with their free to access knowledge sharing platform UPTIME Consultant Academy. Eight years after leaving PepsiCo they still return to UK production and R&D sites to advise and support the engineering and maintenance teams. Andy is a contrarian by nature and as an engineer is still asking 'Why?' and looking for the next development or solution.
