Gates launches power transmission case studies library

RP news wires, Gates Corporation

The Power Transmission unit of Gates Corporation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of belt drive systems, has launched a case studies libraryas a resource for facility and plant managers who want to reduce costs or increase efficiency via their power transmission systems.

The success stories, called Gates Powered Conversions, demonstrate how Gates belt drive systems have helped industry-leading customers improve system reliability, reduce downtime, minimize maintenance and find energy savings.

Users select from a growing catalogue of more than 80 case studies organized by industry, such as chemical processing, food and beverage, oilfield, aggregate and mining and paper processing or by facilities, such as hospitals; by product, including the Poly Chain GT Carbon, PowerGrip GT2 and Predator belt drive systems; and by application.

In one case study, Predator belts on blowers are conservatively estimated to save a raw material processing plant $500,000 annually in maintenance and downtime costs. In another, Poly Chain GT Carbon belt drive systems allowed a paperboard plant to shift the responsibilities of its maintenance staff and capitalize on time saved, as the need for thousands of hours of lubricating roller chain drives was eliminated.
