The Boeing Company and the Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis (SCEA) on July 11 announced that they have entered into an agreement whereby Boeing will become a corporate sponsor of SCEA, an association established to further the effectiveness and efficiency of cost estimating and analysis and related disciplines in the public and private sectors. Boeing's sponsorship of SCEA is the first by a major company in a new program established by SCEA to create alliances with both business and government organizations.
SCEA is a Virginia-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving cost estimating and analysis in government and industry while enhancing the professional competence and achievements of its members. Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, endorses its employees' involvement in SCEA national and local chapter programs and in pursuit of the SCEA certification process through this sponsorship. Such involvement provides a consistent source for personal growth and promotes the professional competencies of cost estimating and cost analysis. Opportunities to be exposed to best practices, processes and new tools accompanied by the instruction and experience of the association and its members will enhance the quality and efficiency of the estimating process. These are keys to supporting the future success of Boeing.
