Toyoda Gosei North American Group announced its plan to establish a new automotive parts manufacturing facility located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The facility will assemble automotive body sealing components, and is set to begin production in October 2008.
The purpose for establishing the location is to create a structure that can accommodate the expected growth in Toyoda Gosei's North American operations, including any future sales expansion in Mexico.
"We are excited to continue our expansion in North America," said Yuzo Saito, president of Toyoda Gosei North America. "This new facility will allow us to better meet our customers' needs while maintaining the high quality that Toyoda Gosei is known for."
The facility is established with an investment by Toyoda Gosei North America, a capital subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Company Ltd. The company name is Toyoda Gosei Automotive Sealing Mexico S.A. DE C. V. and was officially established in April 2008.
Toyoda Gosei will invest $12.5 million in property, plant and equipment. TGASMX plans on employing approximately 500 people by 2010.
