About John Mitchell
John has over a half-century of experience in vibration analysis, machine reliability and condition monitoring and was considered among the world’s foremost experts in the field. He was founder of Palomar Technology International, that, in 1989 was sold to SKF and evolved into SKF Condition Monitoring. In 1984, Palomar introduced the world’s first portable data collector with a high resolution internal FFT, analyzer and large screen display (see image above). John went on to manage Bruel & Kjaer Condition Monitoring Systems eventually evolving into an advocate for the necessity, process, business and financial benefits of Asset Management and Operational Excellence. He is extensively published (books and papers) and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Vibration Institute.
