Siemens Hearing Instruments Inc. will host Bring Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day at the company's corporate office in New Jersey on April 23 in a mission to promote careers in science and engineering through hands-on activities alongside their parents. The participating students will take part in a series of educational activities throughout the day, including an engineering based "egg drop" challenge and a "build a hearing aid" project. The day's activities represent the opportunities and programs made available to students and teachers throughout the country by the Siemens Foundation.

"Siemens believes strongly in supporting today's students in the areas of science and engineering education," said Christi Pedra, CEO of Siemens Hearing. "We are pleased to be able to provide our own students, as well as those in classrooms across the country, exciting new learning tools."

Siemens as an organization prides itself on promoting the importance of math and science to all school age children through the Siemens Foundation. The Siemens Foundation provides more than $7 million annually in support of educational initiatives in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math throughout the United States. Siemens supports and rewards America's students through programs like Siemens Science Day, Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement, and Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology.

The mission of the Siemens Foundation is based on a culture of innovation, research and educational support dedicated to supporting today's outstanding students and recognizing the teachers and schools that inspire excellence.
