Analysts dissect Philadelphia Fed manufacturing report

Mid-Atlantic regional manufacturing conditions continued to improve in December, according to the firms participating in December's Business Outlook Survey, released by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The general activity index increased to 24.3 in December from 22.5 in November. Firms saw increases in prices for inputs and for their own manufactured goods. In the special questions, firms were asked for their expectations on changes in costs next year.
