The Avanti Cigar Company says that film director Francis Ford Coppola likes its stogies so much that he established his own private label in order to sell them at his winery in California. The Scranton, Pa., company buys its tobacco exclusively from Tennessee and Kentucky. Avanti manufactures and distributes more than 30 million cigars a year. During the company's heyday in the 1960s, it sold two to three times that amount.
