Polaris inducts engineering leader into its hall of fame

Chuck Baxter, who spent 30 years in the engineering department at Polaris Industries Inc., was inducted recently into the company’s hall of fame in Nashville, Tenn.

The Polaris Hall of Fame was founded in 2004 as the company celebrated its 50th anniversary. Eleven contributors to the growth and success of Polaris were inducted that year, five honorees were inducted in 2005, six were inducted in 2006 and five were inducted this year.

Baxter rose from project engineer to vice president of engineering and product before retiring in 2000. He oversaw engineering as the company successfully added several new product lines, including ATVs, utility vehicles and motorcycles. He empowered and inspired Polaris engineers and they responded by developing industry-leading innovation and performance for Polaris products.
