GE Inspection Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire phoenix|x-ray, a leader in high-resolution computed tomography (CT) / X-ray technology used in non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. The transaction will be completed upon receipt of regulatory approvals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GE Inspection Technologies’ acquisition of phoenix|x-ray broadens GE’s non-destructive testing offerings, adding innovative 3-D computed tomography, micro- and nano-technology systems to GE Inspection Technologies’ current non-destructive testing portfolio. This expanded technology suite will serve a wide variety of GE’s customers in the aerospace, power generation, oil & gas, automotive, industrial and microelectronics industries.
