Lenovo announced it will develop a new, state-of-the-art U.S. fulfillment center in the town of Whitsett in Guilford County, North Carolina. The fulfillment center will support regional customer requirements including product configuration, distribution services, returns management and some light assembly.

Lenovo will be creating more than 45 new full-time jobs when the fulfillment center becomes operational in January 2008. In addition, another 85 contractor and third-party logistics company positions are expected to be co-located on-site.

The new facility will be approximately 200,000 square feet when completed and is expected to open in January 2008.

“Lenovo’s new U.S. fulfillment center will be a flexible facility capable of handling unique customer requirements such as customized software installation for our North American customers,” said Gerry P.
