Plymouth Tube Company's West Monroe, La., tubing mill is a proud recipient of a 2010 Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Manufacturing Excellence Award. To be selected, West Monroe demonstrated excellence in their operations with a focus on continuous improvement, best practices, creativity and innovation. Starting in 1967, Plymouth Tube was the first manufacturer to provide stainless steel tubing for feedwater heater applications, which became West Monroe's specialty product when it opened in 1975. West Monroe also offers both seamless and welded Stainless Steel tubing.
On Thursday, November 18, in Baltimore, MD, Plymouth Tube Company will be present at the 2010 AME Annual Conference ceremony to formally receive the Manufacturing Excellence Award. They will be recognized with other regional North American manufacturing plants that demonstrated excellence in their operations. The West Monroe Mill manufacturers XtraLowStress Stainless Steel Feedwater Heater Tubing, which offers the lowest possible residual stress for feedwater heaters in the Power Generation market.
