General Motors Mexico on September 28 celebrated 75 years as the nation’s largest auto industry investor, producer and exporter in the nation’s history with Mexican president Felipe Calderón and other dignitaries on hand.
Since beginning operations, GM Mexico has produced 7 million vehicles, 20 million engines, 4 million transmissions and 1.5 million tons of foundry materials,
"We have accomplished goals that seemed unattainable, thanks to the efforts and dedication of Mexican talent," said Grace Lieblein, president and CEO of GM Mexico.
GM Mexico operations include more than 11,500 direct and approximately 90,000 indirect employees.
"At GM, we know that the customer satisfaction is the key to success and the main reason of our work," said Ernesto M. Hernandez, vice president of sales, service and marketing for GM Mexico. "We know there are always opportunities for improvement and for that reason, today more than ever, we are working hard to carry out all the necessary actions to stay in the preference of our customers in order to stay with GM for life."
