MeadWestvaco Corporation on September 17 announced it is listed on the 2010 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the seventh consecutive year, and is ranked best in class in the Containers & Packaging sector for the sixth year. The DJSI World recognizes the world’s leading companies in the areas of economic, environmental and social performance, and evaluates organizations based on their commitment to and success in integrating sustainability into core business objectives and performance.
MWV scored above its peers in the Environmental dimension, reflecting the global packaging leader’s commitment to developing innovative processes and solutions that make its operations more environmentally efficient and productive, including reducing greenhouse gases and streamlining its supply chain and operational footprint.
