Toyota global production plummeted in February plummeted 82.7% vs. 2009

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on March 29 announced its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd. and Hino Motors Ltd. for February 2010.

SALES IN JAPAN
Toyota

  • Seventh consecutive month of increase
  • Sales of Lexus vehicles were 3,373 units (257.3 percent increase)
  • 50.7% share of market excluding minivehicles (5.0% increase); ninth consecutive month of increase and record high for month of February

Daihatsu

  • First increase in five months
  • Number of minivehicles sold was 58,000 units, up 2.8% from February 2009. This is the second consecutive month the figure has increased compared to the same month of the previous year.
  • 35.8% share of minivehicle market (0.8% increase); first increase in three months and record high for month of February

Hino

  • First increase in Twenty-two months
  • Number of standard trucks sold was approximately 1,100 (6.7% decrease)
  • 35.9% share of the truck* market (0.3% decrease)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino

  • Seventh consecutive month of increase
  • 46.0% share of market including minivehicles (4.1% increase); ninth consecutive month of increase and record high for month of February

* Maximum loading capacity of more than four tons; excluding imported trucks


EXPORTS
Toyota: Second consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to many regions, despite the decrease in exports to Africa and other regions

Daihatsu: Second consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to some regions including Europe, despite the decrease in exports to Asia and other regions

Hino: Fourth consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Asia, Oceania, Latin America, the Middle East and other regions

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino: Second consecutive month of increase

OVERSEAS PRODUCTION
Toyota: Seventh consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in almost all regions

Daihatsu: Fourth consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia and other regions

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino: Seventh consecutive month of increase
