Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. kicked off the new year with a sales increase of 5.7 percent in January with retail sales up 16 percent. This marks the company's eighth straight month of retail sales gains and 15 consecutive months of market share increases. January saw car sales rise 1 percent, truck sales increase 7 percent and Lincoln sales achieve a 59 percent increase.
"The auto industry has definitely experienced a turbulent start to the year," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. "But as a testament to the strength of our new product, Ford grew retail sales in January in spite of challenging industry headwinds."
Positive results across the Lincoln lineup helped to boost sales for Ford of Canada with MKZ, MKX and Navigator all showing strong sales gains compared to last January.
