Linde North America, a member of The Linde Group, a world-leading gases and engineering company, has been recognized by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) for excellence in safety and environmental performance in 2008.
The CGA presented its prestigious Fleet Safety and Environmental Excellence awards to Linde North America at its annual meeting last month. The CGA is an industry organization dedicated to the development and promotion of safety standards and safe practices in the industrial gases industry.
“We are honored to receive these awards,” said Pat Murphy, president of Linde North America. “There are no greater achievements in the industrial gases industry than to be recognized for excellence in safety and preservation of the environment.”
For the fourth consecutive year, Linde received the CGA’s Fleet Safety award for the safe driving of its cylinder trucks in the over 3 million-mile category. This award is given by the industry trade group to a member company with the lowest frequency rate of vehicle accidents per miles driven.
The Environmental Excellence award is presented to a CGA member company that demonstrates environmental excellence through environmental accomplishments. Linde North America’s Carson, California, air separation plant received the award for bioremediation of ammonia.
