The Global Six Sigma Awards, organized by WCBF, on July 10 announced that Tim Solso, chairman and chief executive officer of Cummins Inc. has been named the winner of its prestigious Six Sigma CEO of the Year Award.
Solso will be presented with the award at The Global Six Sigma Awards & Summit dinner in
"Six Sigma is one of the best things we have ever done. Last year, we saved $340 million and since its inception in September 1999, we've saved or avoided spending a total of $1.4 billion," Solso reported at the May 2007 Cummins annual meeting.
2006 was the best year in Cummins' history, with record revenues of $11.4 billion, record profits and record cash flow.
