Hypertherm, a world leader in metal-cutting technology, is once again one of the best places to work in America, as announced June 25 by the Society for Human Resource Management and the Great Place to Work Institute. This is the fourth time Hypertherm has been honored.

The SHRM list ranks the top 50 small and medium-sized companies in the United States. Hypertherm, with more than 800 associates worldwide, is number 12 on this year’s list of medium sized companies. The Hanover, N.H.-based company is one of only a handful of manufacturing companies to make the list.

“Hypertherm is honored to be a part of this prestigious list,” said Melissa Carlson, director of human resources for Hypertherm. “All of us here at Hypertherm work hard to create a culture of trust, respect, and integrity. The work of every person is valued and appreciated. We know that by investing in our associates, we are investing in our own success and the success of our customers.”

The results were based on a randomly distributed associate opinion survey. Each company evaluated was given a score based on associates’ responses to a detailed questionnaire about the organizations workplace cultures.

“Hypertherm represents everything a Best Place to Work organization should represent,” said Andrea Campbell, awards program manager for the SHRM. “It is clear from their responses, that Hypertherm associates share a high level of satisfaction. They enjoy coming to work every day. In addition, it is also clear they respect and respond positively to Hypertherm’s core values. It makes for a win-win work experience.”

Great Place to Work Institute co-founder, Robert Levering said, "Hypertherm stands out because its employees find it to be a place where they can trust the management, take pride in their work and have fun. Other companies have much to learn about how to be productive and do right by their people."

The Best Place to Work award is the latest in a string of honors for Hypertherm. In addition to recognition as a Best Place to Work for several years now, Hypertherm is the recipient of the Corporate Spirit of Service award from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The award recognizes Hypertherm’s commitment to volunteering and its philanthropic support of non-profit organizations in the Upper Valley. Hypertherm was also recently named one of the most adoption friendly workplaces in the country. Hypertherm consistently ranks as of the Best Places to Work in the state of New Hampshire.

By continually delivering breakthrough advances in metal-cutting productivity and precision – first in plasma, now also in laser – Hypertherm reaffirms and extends its position as the world’s leading supplier of advanced high temperature metal cutting technology.
