GE, FANUC celebrate joint venture's 20th anniversary

GE Fanuc Automation, a unit of GE Industrial, on June 14 celebrated the 20th anniversary of the joint venture between General Electric and FANUC Ltd. of Japan. The occasion was marked by a commemoration on the grounds of GE Fanuc Automation headquarters in Charlottesville, Va., attended by employees, executives from the two companies, local government officials and honored guests who have participated in the joint venture since its inception.

“Thanks to the vision, foresight and wisdom of Dr. Seiuemon Inaba and Mr. Jack Welch, what began 20 years ago as a joint venture of two automation companies has grown into a hugely successful business,” said Maryrose Sylvester, president and chief executive officer of GE Fanuc Automation. “This business continues to find new ways to enhance our customers’ performance by providing solutions that improve their products and operations with our leading Automation, CNC and Embedded portfolio.”
