Komatsu recently announced that it has agreed to acquire Immersive Technologies, a western Australia-based mining workforce optimization company. The acquisition is expected to close on July 1, 2019.
Immersive Technologies will operate under its existing name as an independently managed, wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu while continuing to collaborate with equipment manufacturers to address the performance improvement challenges of mixed equipment fleets.

Immersive Technologies, which will retain its headquarters in Perth, develops, manufactures and sells mining equipment simulators for training machine operators in surface and underground mines. The company also offers educational programs designed to enhance the safety and productivity of operations, as well as training solutions to promote operational optimization.
