McNeilus Steel recently announced that it will establish a new manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee, and create 72 jobs over the next five years.

The company will invest $18.8 million to build a 100,000-square-foot facility in the East Tennessee Progress Center. The steel processor expects the facility to be operational in the first quarter of 2020. The new plant will fabricate metal parts for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the Southeast.

“McNeilus Steel is very excited to expand our services to Morristown, Tennessee,” said Glenn Sylvester, chief operating officer for McNeilus Steel. “Geographically, this is an optimal location to continue to grow our family business. We look forward to getting this facility operationalized and adding quality employees from the region.”

Headquartered in Dodge Center, Minnesota, McNeilus Steel supplies steel products and offers metal fabrication services to customers. It employs approximately 700 people in the United States with locations in Fargo, North Dakota, and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

“McNeilus Steel’s decision to invest in Tennessee and create high-skill jobs reinforces our thriving business environment and growing skilled workforce,” said Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee. “I look forward to seeing the positive impact this company will have on the residents of East Tennessee.”
