Tube-bending solutions provider Unison recently announced that it will be increasing its manufacturing capacity and opening a new plant in Danville, Virginia.
The new facility is intended to support the activities of the Unison plant in North Yorkshire, England, which has experienced considerable growth that is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
The company plans to invest $5.2 million as part of its commitment to establish its first manufacturing operation in the United States. The plan also includes the creation of 35 new jobs over the next three years.
"With this U.S. venture, we intend to lead tube-bending solution innovation," said Julian Kidger, Unison's joint managing director. "We are incredibly excited about the benefits this facility will give our existing and future customers. Many of our initial hires for the U.S. will be dedicated to service and support, ensuring a rapid and professional response for all customers. It will be fantastic to genuinely be able to label our machines as 'made in America.'"
Over the last three years, Unison has invested heavily in the research and development of robotics, lasers and software, and plans to bring several new products to the U.S. market in 2018.
