Rockline Industries' manufacturing facility in Springdale, Ark., was recently presented an award from the Arkansas Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Division for achieving 3 million safe working hours.
The award recognizes companies whose employees have accumulated 3 million work hours without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness. Rockline is the only company in the state to reach 3 million safe work hours in 2013.
Among the factors contributing to Rockline's success has been the company's proactive behavioral-based safety program, which trains employees to observe work tasks and provide immediate safety feedback to those involved. It also trains production team members to serve as safety coordinators who help improve training and communication at a smaller, teachable team level.
"The health and safety of our employees is a top priority for Rockline Industries," said Rockline's Ella Shackelford. "As a team, we have worked incredibly hard to reach the 3-million-safe-work-hours mark, and we owe our success to the employees who put a strong emphasis on both individual and team safety."
Headquartered in Sheboygan, Wis., Rockline Industries manufactures coffee filters and wet wipes. The company employs approximately 2,000 people worldwide and has manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, Arkansas, New Jersey, England and China. For more information, visit www.RocklineInd.com.
