The National Safety Council announced October 4 that it will present the 2011 Green Cross for Safety Medal to Schneider Electric North America. The Green Cross for Safety Medal is presented annually by NSC to an organization that has distinguished itself over a period of years for outstanding achievements in workplace and off-the-job safety and health, community service, environmental stewardship, and responsible citizenship. The medal will be presented to Schneider Electric North America CEO Chris Curtis at a dinner in spring 2011.
Schneider Electric North America is the first organization to receive both the NSC Green Cross for Safety Medal and the Robert W. Campbell Award, which recognizes organizations that demonstrate world-class operational safety performance.

The Green Cross for Safety Medal recognizes Schneider Electric for extending their safety systems and culture beyond the walls of the organization into the communities in which it operates.”
Past recipients of the Green Cross for Safety Medal are: Exelon Nuclear, FirstGroup, Delta Air Lines, UPS, DuPont, Liberty Mutual Group, Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler, Kenny Construction Co., Ryder Systems Inc., Intel Corporation and AK Steel Corporation.
