The manufacturing sector is seeing a downward spiral in West Virginia, according to a report from Workforce West Virginia.

WorkForce West Virginia, a network of workforce development services designed to provide citizens and employers the opportunity to succeed in today’s competitive global economy, reports that since 1990 the percentage of manufacturing jobs fell from 13 percent of the workforce to 7 percent.

The state has seen declines in chemical, aluminum and steel jobs. However, there has been an increase in wood products and transportation equipment.
