New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) on March 15 announced that the United Auto Workers and NUMMI have come to a tentative shutdown agreement including a retention package which is subject to a ratification vote of the bargaining unit team members. No details about the agreement will be publicly discussed until the union has had the opportunity to present the terms of the agreement to its membership. The time and date for a ratification vote has not been determined at this time, but the vote will probably take place later this week.

NUMMI is an award-winning auto manufacturing venture that was formed by General Motors and Toyota 25 years ago. It will end vehicle production on April 1, 2010.
