Dresser-Rand Group Inc., a global supplier of rotating equipment and aftermarket parts and services, announced that it is once again offering a comprehensive list of product training programs in 2010, designed to help clients reduce equipment maintenance costs and ensure product reliability. Product training is offered for Dresser-Rand’s centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, process gas and separable gas field reciprocating compressors, integral gas engines, and control systems. Dresser-Rand product training programs are designed for a wide range of client operations, maintenance and engineering personnel. Full-time instructors and field service engineers employ “building block” and “team teaching” techniques ranging from equipment fundamentals, for the new employee, to complete machinery overhauls and design concepts, for more experienced attendees.
All instructor-led, classroom and hands-on training is offered at Dresser-Rand factory training centers in New York State, Houston, and various regional service centers worldwide. Clients outside the United States can participate in programs offered at training facilities in Le Havre, France; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Peterborough, United Kingdom; Cilegon, Indonesia; Shanghai, China; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dresser-Rand also offers several one-day short courses covering topics selected from its longer factory programs. Related courses are bundled and held in succession, giving students the opportunity to attend one or all of the programs scheduled for that location.
Customized training programs specific to a client’s machinery can also be arranged. Dresser-Rand has portable training units and workstations representing full-sized Dresser-Rand equipment that can be transported directly to the client’s facility, reducing overall training costs and associated trainee travel expense. If training is intended for a group of people from a specific facility, Dresser-Rand will research the equipment records and provide a program matched to that machinery.
Web-Based Training (WBT), another integral part of the company’s extensive educational offerings, emphasizes the practical aspects of machine reliability, repair, and trouble-shooting. These WBT courses are designed for the intermediate to advanced level student and include many learning interactivities to enhance knowledge retention.
Designed by experienced factory-trained personnel and approved by in-house subject matter experts, these courses provide excellent means to quickly train operators and mechanics in established Dresser-Rand “best practices.” All WBT training is delivered in ClarityNet HD e-Learning format, a product of Coastal Training Technologies Corporation and recognized leader in flexible learning solutions. All courses will be AICC- and SCORM-certified, enabling integration with a variety of learning management systems.
