Belden to close wire/cable products plant in Massachusetts

Belden announced plans to cease production activities at one of its manufacturing plants located in Leominster, Mass., by July 2010. The facility manufactures wire and cable products for enterprise applications throughout the United States. The production will be moved to other existing Belden manufacturing facilities located in Leominster, Mass.; Monticello, Ky.; and Nogales, Mexico.

 

There will be approximately 170 associates affected by these actions who will be eligible for severance benefits from the company.

 

This action is part of the restructuring initiative the company announced in December 2008.
