Plastican Inc. has donated a truckload of five-gallon plastic pails (with lids) to help Louisiana and Texas families clean their homes after recent flooding. The pails will be packed with rubber gloves, dust masks, scrub brushes, sponges, bleach, soaps and other items by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which will distribute the “Flood Buckets” to Methodist churches. Church volunteers will distribute them to local households that need them.
“Cleaning a flood-damaged home can be overwhelming,” said Plastican Dallas office manager Pam Davidson. “The mess and the mold are hard to imagine if you haven’t been through it. If your home has been flooded, cleaning supplies are often difficult to find locally, and every penny counts. We support UMCOR’s commendable relief efforts.”
A leader in the manufacture of rigid plastic packaging, Plastican was founded in 1969. The company has four wholly owned manufacturing facilities in Leominster, Mass.; Dallas; Macon, Ga.; and Phoenix. Plastican's open-head HDPE pails range in size from one to 6.5 gallons and can be used in consumer and industrial markets. Typical applications are for containing a wide variety of products, including paints, foods, construction supplies, janitorial supplies, lubricants, specialty chemicals, swimming-pool chemicals and pet-care products.
