Danaher Tool Group on September 30 announced the launch of “Inventor Connect”, a Web site developed to attract tool inventors and provide a means to submit new tool inventions for review.
“We aim to be the destination for new tool inventors globally,” says Stephen Otis, director of product marketing for Danaher Tool Group. “We have the brands and private label customers to offer inventors the broadest possible market for their new ideas.”
In addition to professional brands such as MATCO, GearWrench, Armstrong, KD, Allen and SATA, Danaher Tool Group is known for manufacturing Craftsman mechanics tools for Sears, Kobalt for Lowes, and the Professional Series of tools for NAPA.
“As Danaher Corporation, we have a strategic initiative to develop our ‘Open Innovation’ resources. In the case of Tool Group, this initiative is about continuing to develop our strong inventor community base and leveraging outside resources to rapidly bring ideas to market. Some of our best innovation comes from inventors and we pay royalties for their inventions,” says Otis.
