Raytheon's Patterson to keynote at 'Lubed, Reliable and Lean'

Raytheon Company vice president Robert “Rusty” Patterson will provide a keynote address on Wednesday, May 16, at "Lubed, Reliable and Lean," Noria Corporation's international manufacturing conference and exhibition in Columbus, Ohio.

 

Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Roy Firestone and Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corporation president and CEO John Stollenwerk are among the other keynoters at the event, which will be held May 16-18 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. "Lubed, Reliable and Lean" includes three co-located shows:

- Lubrication Excellence 2006

- Reliability World 2006

- Lean Manufacturing 2006

 

Patterson is the vice president of the Customer & Supply Chain Institute for Raytheon and is responsible for taking the improvement concepts embodied in Raytheon Six Sigma outside the company, as well as insuring that Raytheon has the right people equipped with the right tools and processes to be an effective industry leader in supply chain management.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in defense electronics in a wide variety of positions in engineering and manufacturing. 

Patterson was also the president and CEO of the Agility Forum, a non-profit think tank and consulting organization on competitive issues. In this capacity, he worked with hundreds of companies across all industry sectors to provide solution strategies to increase the competitiveness of the extended enterprise. He was a contributor to the development of the “21st Century Manufacturing Enterprise Strategy” commissioned by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He was co-leader of the Next Generation Manufacturing (NGM) Project commissioned by DARPA and the National Science Foundation, and was chairman of the project’s steering committee.

He has spoken, including keynote presentations, at conferences in the United States, Asia and Europe on topics such as emerging competitive concepts, the shape of industry in the future, and how to position your organization to be a next generation enterprise.

He holds a BSEE from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of North Texas. He sits on the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) of the Automation and Robotics Research Institute (ARRI), is the chairman of the board of the National Council for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM), and sits on the board of govenors of the Shingo Prize.
