Boeing subsidiary commences operations in India

On March 12, the Boeing Company announced that Aviall, Inc., a wholly owned Boeing subsidiary, plans to open a business office in India during the second half of 2008. Aviall is one of the largest providers of new aviation parts and related aftermarket services in the aerospace industry. Aviall's India operation will serve the rapidly growing Indian aviation industry and be headquartered near New Delhi at the Noida Special Economic Zone in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
"Boeing's commitment to India continues to gain momentum by bringing value to India's aerospace industry," said Ian Thomas, president of Boeing India. "Aviall's India initiative is one more in a series of recent growth and productivity efforts to strengthen and deepen our partnerships."
To lead this initiative, Aviall has appointed Sachin Taparia as the managing director - Aviall India. Previously, Taparia was responsible for the supply chain services at Aviall headquarters in Dallas, Texas. In his new position, Taparia will relocate to New Delhi.
"India is one of the fastest growing markets for Aviall and its Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) suppliers. This initiative and Sachin's appointment highlight Aviall's commitment in supporting its OEMs and India-based customers," said Aviall chairman and CEO Paul Fulchino.
“With its proximity to New Delhi, the Noida Special Economic Zone allows us to have presence close to a key aviation hub of India and the opportunity to grow."
