WHITE PAPER:

Handheld Lubricant Condition Monitoring Using Infrared Spectroscopy

Although infrared spectrometry is a well-accepted technology for analyzing lubricants and fluids for contamination and degradation, conventional FTIR spectrometers contain delicate moving components and have limited temperature ranges, which make many designs difficult to use in the field. However, a new quantitative technology now exists for the convenient on-site analysis of in-service lubricants to determine if the lubricant is fit for further service or if an oil change or other maintenance action is required. This paper explains how this waveguide-based technology has been implemented and how it compares to conventional FTIR fluid analysis.  View Spectro Scientific's Privacy Policy
