Energy Panel Structures (EPS) recently added a new structural insulated panels (SIP) manufacturing plant at its Fingerlakes Construction facility in Clyde, N.Y.

The plant is approximately 10,000 square feet and includes a state-of-the-art automated CNC machine. Additional equipment will be used for laminating, cutting and prefabbing the panels. The plant is expected to produce 1.5 million square feet of panels annually.

"We have been manufacturing SIPs at our Iowa location for over 20 years," said Chris Spaeth, vice president of sales for EPS. "We can now provide SIPs from the New York facility to accommodate our growing customer base in the New England and eastern states. SIPs are recognized for their high performance as a building package for those customers who want an energy-efficient home, ag or commercial building."

Structural insulated panels are known for their energy efficiency and are a proven building product. The panels consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between oriented strand board (OSB). The panels are manufactured under factory-controlled conditions and can be fabricated to fit nearly any building design.

Along with its Fingerlakes location, EPS has a corporate office in Graettinger, Iowa, and an additional manufacturing facility in Perryville, Mo.
