Baldor Plant Chosen as Top Workplace

Noria news wires

The Baldor Electric Co. was recently named a 2014 top workplace by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Top workplaces were selected based on employee feedback provided during a confidential survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics LLP.

The Baldor metal-stamping plant produces stamped parts for five motor manufacturing plants in the United States. Each year the plant generates more than 700 million pieces of steel laminations. The 250 employees in the St. Louis plant also produce more than 5 million motor parts per year, including bases, fans, fan covers, capacitor boxes and retainer rings.

"During the survey, our employees told us they value our company's 'no layoff' strategy, sharing in the company's success through our profit-sharing plan and improving themselves through our tuition-reimbursement plan," said Ron Tucker, Baldor's chief executive officer and president. "Our employees are one of our most valuable assets. Investing in them has truly been a key part of our success, and we appreciate what they do for our customers and for each other."

A member of the ABB group, Baldor was founded in St. Louis in 1920 and has been at its current location since 1963.
