American Textile Company earns manufacturer of the year honors

American Textile Company, founded in 1925 and headquartered in Duquesne, Pa, was named the Pittsburgh Business Times’ Manufacturer of the Year in the mega business category. The program annually recognizes area manufacturers in the Pittsburgh region for achieving growth through sales revenue, innovation and process improvements. The sustainable manufacturing award recognizes manufacturers for commitment to sustainable products, process or manufacturing methods, including energy/material savings, pollution reduction, and facility design.

American Textile has developed a world-class manufacturing organization focused on efficiency and sustainability. "We're proud of our manufacturing achievements and are thankful to be recognized for them," said Jack Oullette, president and CEO. "The improvements that our team has made in the past few years have allowed us to better serve our customers."

Providing innovative sleep products based on "sound science, sound sleep" American Textile Company has manufacturing facilities in Duquesne, Pa; Dallas, Texas; and Salt Lake City, Utah; and a fourth facility to open in early 2011, to serve more than 35,000 retail stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. The company employs more than 400 people throughout all of its operating facilities, with more than 200 at its Duquesne headquarters.
