Toyota decreased its global vehicle production in September

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on October 25 announced its production, domestic sales and export results, including those for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd. and Hino Motors Ltd., for September 2010 and the first-half period from April to September 2010.

  • First decrease in 14 months
  • Lexus-vehicle sales totaled 3,609 units (18.6% increase)
  • 43.3% share of market excluding minivehicles (1.1% decrease)

Daihatsu

  • Eighth consecutive month of increase
  • Minivehicle sales totaled approximately 60,600 units (7.5% increase); ninth consecutive month of increase
  • 37.1% share of minivehicle market (1.0% increase); second consecutive month of increase

Hino

  • First decrease in eight months
  • Standard-truck sales totaled approximately 1,500 (14.9% decrease); first decrease in seven months
  • 30.7% share of the truck* market (3.6% decrease)

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino

  • First decrease in 14 months
  • 42.0% share of market including minivehicles (0.5% decrease)

* Maximum loading capacity of four tons or more; excluding imported trucks

EXPORTS
Toyota: First decrease in nine months, due to decreased exports to North America, Europe and the Middle East

Daihatsu: Decrease, due to decreased exports to Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe

Hino: Eleventh consecutive month of increase, due to increased exports to Asia, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and Africa

Toyota + Daihatsu + Hino: First decrease in nine months

OVERSEAS PRODUCTION
Toyota: First decrease in fourteen months, due to decreased production in Europe, North America and other regions

Daihatsu: Eleventh consecutive month of increase, due to increased production in Indonesia and other regions

Hino: Increase, due to increased production in Asia
