Michigan recognizes five GM plants for environmental partnership

Five General Motors facilities were awarded Michigan's Neighborhood Environmental Partners Program Award for outstanding commitment to community-based environmental projects.

The State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment presented the awards Wednesday at a ceremony in Lansing. The facilities honored included the Flint Metal Center, Lansing Delta Township Assembly and Regional Stamping, Orion Township Assembly, Romulus Engine and Warren Transmission.

The Neighborhood Environmental Partners Program offers business and citizen groups the opportunity to work together to improve their neighborhoods, making them cleaner and more attractive places to live and work.
