Holcim (US) Inc. completed the company's first annual safety month. The company dedicated the month of June as their official month-long campaign to focus on the company's number one priority – safety. Approximately 2,000 employees from the company's cement plants, distribution facilities, and corporate and administrative offices participated in various programs organized throughout the month. The programs included guest speakers, awareness sessions, and training for both at work and at home situations. Families of employees were invited to share in some of the activities.

"Safety is our No. 1 priority at Holcim," said Bernard Terver, president and chief executive officer of Holcim (US). "We continually emphasize the importance of safe behavior and strive to develop a mindset and culture focused on safety. Our employees are our greatest asset. We are proud to have built one of the best safety records in the industry and work passionately on our safety program with the goal of achieving zero harm to our people."

Terver continued, "Having a month filled with activities for our employees and their families is a great approach to reinforce safety in an interesting and fun way. By all accounts, the campaign was a tremendous success and we are looking forward to next year's event."
