Aleris restarts rolling mill facility in Virginia

RP news wires

Aleris International Inc. announced on July 6 that it will resume limited operations at its Richmond, Va., rolling mill beginning in September 2010. The mill, which supplies aluminum coil for building and construction applications, was idled in February 2008 due to the continuing downturn in the North American building and construction industry. Upon startup, the facility will operate one shift and is intended to only provide capacity to other Aleris facilities to meet internal demand and support customer service levels.

Aleris International is a global leader in aluminum rolled products and extrusions, aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. Headquartered in Beachwood, Ohio, the company operates more than 40 production facilities in North America, Europe, South America and Asia, and employs approximately 6,500 employees.
