SKF Machine Condition Advisor product wins award

SKF

Design News recently announced the results of their 2010 “Best Products” awards, with SKF winning the “Golden Mousetrap” award within the Electronics / Test and Measurement category for the new SKF Machine Condition Advisor, a handheld instrument which simplifies machine monitoring and provides early warning of potential failures.

Torsten Bark, product project manager for the SKF Machine Condition Advisor at SKF Reliability Systems, said, "We are delighted to receive this award within a very competitive category. SKF has been leading the way with the design, manufacture and application of portable instrumentation for machine health monitoring for many years, and this latest award shows that we continue to maintain that tradition. The SKF Machine Condition Advisor is a good fit whether a facility is just beginning a predictive maintenance program or wants to supplement their existing condition monitoring program. New users can have increased confidence because their readings are automatically compared to established standards or backed up by experienced analysts using SKF data analyzers for further analysis. The Advisor has over 100 years of SKF knowledge engineering behind it."

For more than two decades, the Design News Awards Program has recognized engineering innovation and creativity in product design. This year, Golden Mousetrap awards were given in four major categories: Electronics, Motion Control/Automation, Hardware/Software, Materials/Fastening/Joining/Assembly, and 20 subcategories. Editors analyzed a record number of entries and, based on their expertise in each technology area, selected the winners and finalists.
