MRO Software Inc., a provider of asset and service management solutions, announced that Gartner Inc. has positioned the company in the leader quadrant in its report, “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Asset Management, 1H061”.

According to Gartner Inc., leaders are “vendors that would normally be included in shortlists worldwide for EAM products for mainstream industries that rely on assets. They perform profitably, grow their revenue and have a presence in all major markets. Their functionality is above average and their technology and functionality are leading edge. These vendors would be followed and tracked by other EAM vendors.”

The report includes a market description for EAM solutions: “Customer enterprises evaluate and procure EAM products or maintenance modules when solving physical asset care requirements, such as providing maintenance support in a facility, fixed plant, a fleet of equipment or complex or hybrid manufacturing or service environment.”

“An EAM solution includes work order creation, planned maintenance, maintenance history, purchasing and procurement and inventory management, as well as equipment, component and asset tracking for hierarchical contracts of equipment," noted Gartner Inc.’s Kristian Steenstrup, managing vice president, and Bill Maynard, research director, in the report “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Asset Management 1H 06.”

“We’re extremely pleased with our positioning in the Gartner EAM Magic Quadrant report. MRO Software was recognized based on several criteria including vision and ability to execute,” said Patricia C. Foye, executive vice president of global marketing and alliances, MRO Software. “We believe we’ve achieved this position based on our understanding and commitment to solving the challenges our customers face. We feel we are positioned where we are, based on our ability to deliver the functionality and performance our customers require. And we continue to build on this leadership position as we extend our breadth of asset and service management solutions with Maximo Enterprise Suite.”
