The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) invites the public to participate in its final two informal stakeholder meetings on Occupational Exposure to Ionizing Radiation in a Federal Register Notice published March 30. These planned meetings continue OSHA's information collection efforts and will add to the information obtained under the Request for Information published on May 5, 2005.
"These meetings are an exceptional opportunity for us to hear from stakeholders and exchange data, share ideas and varying points of view on how to work safely with sources of ionizing radiation," said Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA, Edwin G. Foulke Jr.
The next stakeholder meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 19 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel,
The final meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 26 at the Department of Labor,
OSHA requests the public be prepared to discuss the following issues regarding occupational exposure to ionizing radiation in their industry/occupation: uses of ionizing radiation, controls utilized to minimize exposure and available exposure data and training.
