The Pensacola, Fla., plant of Reichhold Inc. recently received the companys 2007 Most Improved Safety Record award at Reichholds Safety Awards Banquet in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

Reichhold is the worlds largest manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins for composites and a leading supplier of resins for the coatings industry. Its manufacturing site at 425 S. Pace Boulevard employs 60 people. Globally, Reichhold has 18 manufacturing facilities in 11 countries throughout North America, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. Reichhold is celebrating its 80th year in business in 2007.

"Selecting the facility with the most improved safety record was very difficult," Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) director Scott Snyder said at the banquet. "A number of plants showed significant improvements this year. But, after much consideration, one facility stood out. The Reichhold facility with the most improved safety record this year was Pensacola, Fla."

The award was presented to Pensacola plant manager John Arthur by Reichhold chairman, president and CEO John Gaither.

Safety is a prime concern at all Reichhold sites, said Snyder. Operating safely protects our most valuable resource, our employees, and also protects the communities in which Reichhold operates. Our own EH&S vision states that Reichhold will be a welcomed neighbor in every community in which we operate, and we practice that every day. The Pensacola plant is an example of where we want all of our sites to be in regard to safety.”
