EPS Corp on October 20 announced that Butterball, LLC, the largest producer of turkey products in the United States, has selected EPS’ xChange Point real-time energy management and carbon reduction solution as a technology enabler to achieve its energy efficiency and sustainability goals. xChange Point will initially be deployed at Butterball’s manufacturing facility in Mt. Olive, N.C., to analyze current energy consumption and carbon emissions, identify areas for the greatest improvement, and design a strategy to increase overall plant energy efficiency.

One of the key elements in Butterball’s Corporate Social Responsibility directive, “sustainability” is a top priority for the corporation. For that reason, Butterball wanted to add an energy intelligence system that would allow the company to monitor and reduce their energy use and carbon emissions and achieve their overall sustainability targets. Butterball selected EPS Corp because of the company’s expertise in industrial energy efficiency and the breadth of its real-time xChange Point energy management solution, backed by a team of energy analysts and engineers to recommend and implement the most effective sustainability initiatives in concert with Butterball’s internal team.

“Butterball is dedicated to being a good steward of the environment,” said Steve Valesko, vice president of engineering for Butterball LLC. “The EPS system provides our company with real-time measurements for obtaining our sustainability goals, resulting in cost reductions for the facilities as well as reinforcing our commitment to the environmental community.”

EPS’ xChange Point system is deployed by multiple Fortune 1000 manufacturing companies to use real- time, enterprise-wide data, together with recommendations by EPS experts, to reduce energy and water use and carbon emissions. This software as a service solution provides an enterprise-wide view of important sustainability and production metrics that can help reduce costs while improving sustainability at facilities across the enterprise – making it a powerful solution for leading global companies such as Butterball to understand their energy, water, and carbon profiles.
