Focusing on the timely subjects of energy production and delivery, Modeling, Control, Simulation, and Diagnosis of Complex Industrial and Energy Systems is the fourth and latest book in a series being published by the ISA/O3neida partnership.

Containing 14 papers from more than 40 authors worldwide, the book concentrates on the real-time monitoring and control of energy production and delivery systems. It also provides in-depth coverage on how to apply innovative approaches ranging from the predictive control of a gasoline engine, through fuzzy inference applied to quality control in the paper industry, and up to innovative load shedding and demand management in national electrical grids.

The papers have been developed with the support of ANIPLA (Associazione Nazionale Italiana Per L’Automazione), the national automation association of Italy. Founded in 1956, ANIPLA is a scientific non-profit association whose mission is to promote the discussion, dissemination and education on the technological, industrial, application-oriented and social aspects related to automation.

With its focus on energy systems, this book will be of interest to practitioners within the automation field, as well as academics and students seeking an overview of current thinking in this area. See a complete description of this publication online at www.isa.org/modeling.
